Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom cover during teacher absence or PPA time when required.
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including pupils with SEN, Autism, ADHD, SEMH, and speech and language needs.
  • Deliver one-to-one and small group interventions to improve academic progress and personal development.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and the wider pastoral team.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff.
  • Promote positive behaviour and implement personalised behaviour support strategies.
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where every pupil can thrive.

  • Previous experience working as a Higher Level Teaching Assistant or an experienced Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN or additional learning needs within a specialist or mainstream setting.
  • Confidence leading lessons and delivering interventions independently.
  • Excellent behaviour management and communication skills.
  • A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting children and young people.
  • HLTA Status or a relevant qualification is desirable but not essential for candidates with substantial classroom experience.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
