Nurture Teaching Assistant – SEMH Primary School – Hillingdon

Riley Personnel is recruiting a compassionate, patient and resilient Nurture Teaching Assistant to join a specialist primary SEMH school in Hillingdon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or Behaviour Mentor who is passionate about helping children with social, emotional and mental health needs. The school is looking for someone who can create positive relationships, provide emotional support and help pupils feel safe, settled and ready to learn.

The successful candidate will play an important role in helping children develop emotional regulation, confidence and positive relationships while supporting their academic and personal development.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support for primary-aged pupils
• Supporting children with social, emotional and mental health needs
• Helping pupils develop emotional regulation and positive coping strategies
• Building trusting relationships and providing consistent encouragement
• Supporting children who may struggle with behaviour, confidence or engagement
• Creating a calm, nurturing and structured learning environment
• Encouraging positive interactions, independence and social development
• Working closely with teachers and pastoral staff to support each child's progress

The Ideal Candidate

• Previous experience working with children in a school or similar setting
• Experience supporting SEMH, SEN or behavioural needs is highly desirable
• A patient, caring, empathetic and resilient approach
• Confident building positive relationships with primary-aged children
• Able to remain calm and consistent when managing challenging behaviour
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Passionate about supporting children's emotional wellbeing and development
