QTS Primary Teacher - SEMH School - Wandsworth

Riley Personnel is recruiting a dedicated and resilient QTS-qualified Primary Teacher to join a specialist SEMH school in Wandsworth.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate primary teacher who wants to make a meaningful difference to children with social, emotional and mental health needs. You will deliver engaging, accessible lessons while helping pupils develop confidence, emotional regulation and positive relationships with learning.

The successful candidate will be committed to creating a structured, nurturing classroom where children feel safe, supported and able to reach their potential.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging primary lessons tailored to pupils' individual learning needs
• Adapt teaching strategies to support children with SEMH and additional needs
• Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Support emotional regulation, positive behaviour and classroom engagement
• Establish clear routines and maintain a calm, structured learning environment
• Monitor progress and adapt lessons to help pupils achieve their potential
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants, pastoral staff and the wider school team
• Promote pupils' confidence, independence and social development

The Ideal Candidate

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential
• Primary teaching experience is desirable
• Experience supporting children with SEMH, SEN or behavioural needs is an advantage
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
• Patient, resilient and empathetic approach
• Confident adapting lessons to meet different learning needs
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Committed to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children

Primary teachers with experience in SEMH, SEN, alternative provision or specialist settings are particularly encouraged to apply.
