Qualified Maths Teacher

Riley Personnel is recruiting a Qualified Maths Teacher for a specialist school in Surrey supporting pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

This is an opportunity for a dedicated Maths Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, adapt learning to individual needs and create a structured, supportive classroom environment where pupils can make progress.

The Role

• Plan and deliver engaging Maths lessons suited to pupils' abilities and learning needs.

• Adapt teaching approaches to support pupils with SEMH needs and barriers to learning.

• Establish clear expectations, routines and boundaries to promote positive behaviour.

• Monitor pupil progress and adapt lessons to support individual development.

• Build positive, professional relationships with pupils to encourage engagement and confidence.

• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff to maintain a consistent approach.

• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

The Ideal Candidate

• Holds Qualified Teacher Status or an appropriate recognised teaching qualification.

• Has experience teaching Maths at secondary level.

• Has strong classroom management and behaviour-support skills.

• Can adapt teaching to meet a range of abilities and additional needs.

• Is patient, resilient and confident working with pupils who may present with challenging behaviour.

• Is committed to helping pupils develop academically, socially and emotionally.

Experience in an SEMH, PRU, alternative provision or other specialist setting would be highly desirable.
