The Role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils within the classroom to promote engagement and progress.
- Deliver one-to-one and small-group interventions.
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom activities.
- Support pupils with a range of learning needs, including pupils with SEN.
- Encourage positive behaviour and build pupils' confidence.
- Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for candidates who have:
- Previous experience working with children in a school, nursery, tutoring, coaching, childcare, mentoring, or youth work setting.
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, proactive, and reliable approach.
- GCSE English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above or equivalent).
Applications are also welcomed from graduates with relevant experience working with children who are considering a future career in teaching or education.
Desirable Experience
- Previous Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant experience.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEN.
- Experience delivering Literacy or Numeracy interventions.
- Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification.
- A degree in Education, Psychology, English, Maths, or another relevant subject.
