A specialist SEN school in Kingston, supporting students aged 9–19, is looking for dedicated, adaptable and enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join its team. There are opportunities available for individuals seeking a full-time, long-term position, as well as candidates interested in flexible day-to-day school cover.
Full-Time, Long-Term Teaching Assistant
The school is looking for a Teaching Assistant who holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an experienced individual who is keen to take on additional responsibilities and develop within a long-term role. This opportunity would suit someone confident supporting learning, working closely with teaching staff and taking a proactive approach to helping students with additional needs achieve their potential.
Day-to-Day SEN Teaching Assistant Cover
The school is also seeking reliable and flexible Teaching Assistants to provide cover as and when required. Both part-time and full-time opportunities are available, initially on a short-term or day-to-day basis, with the possibility of further work depending on the school's requirements.
Responsibilities across these roles may include supporting classroom learning, providing one-to-one and small-group assistance, encouraging positive behaviour and helping students develop their communication, independence and social skills.
The ideal candidates will be patient, compassionate and confident supporting young people with Special Educational Needs. Previous SEN experience is highly desirable, alongside the ability to build positive relationships and work collaboratively with teaching staff.
Whether you are looking for a consistent, long-term opportunity with greater responsibility or flexible school-based work, these roles offer the chance to make a meaningful difference to students aged 9–19.
