Full-time SEN Teaching Assistant required for a welcoming school in Tower Hamlets. September start supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs in a supportive and inclusive environment.

A welcoming and inclusive school in Tower Hamlets is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September. This full-time position offers the opportunity to support pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential within a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils both within the classroom and through targeted interventions. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant or someone with transferable experience working with children and young people.

The Position

  • Full-time, Monday to Friday
  • September start
  • Supporting pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH and Speech and Language Needs
  • Providing 1:1 and small group support
  • Assisting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom activities
  • Implementing strategies to support learning, communication and behaviour
  • Building positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents
  • Helping to create an inclusive and nurturing learning environment

The Ideal Candidate

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN is desirable
  • Backgrounds in education, support work, youth work, care or similar settings are welcomed
  • Patient, resilient and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
