Are you an experienced Teaching Assistant with a strong background supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs?
Riley Personnel is recruiting experienced Teaching Assistants for mainstream schools across Bromley, supporting pupils with additional needs on a 1:1 and small-group basis.
We have both long-term and day-to-day Teaching Assistant opportunities available for candidates with relevant school-based experience.
About the Role
These positions involve supporting pupils with SEN within mainstream school environments. You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other school staff to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support to access learning and develop their independence.
Depending on the individual school and pupil, responsibilities may include:
- Providing 1:1 and small-group SEN support.
- Supporting pupils to access classroom learning and the wider curriculum.
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
- Supporting social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Following individual support strategies and plans.
- Adapting your approach according to individual needs.
- Supporting positive behaviour and maintaining professional boundaries.
- Working collaboratively with teachers and SENCOs.
The Candidate
We are looking for experienced education professionals, particularly candidates who have previously worked as a Teaching Assistant or Learning Support Assistant in a UK school.
Successful candidates will have:
- Previous UK school-based experience.
- Practical experience supporting pupils with SEN.
- Confidence providing 1:1 and small-group support.
- A calm, patient and consistent approach.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- The ability to respond professionally to challenging situations.
- A genuine commitment to supporting pupils with additional needs.
Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, learning difficulties and behavioural needs is particularly valuable.
